This option enables:
- the output (in the SDI output) of Closed Captioning, Subtitle (OP47) and VANC data such as SCTE35.
- the burn-in of SRT side-car captions (embedded captions not supported - requires the DGO option)
For Closed Captioning, CEA-708 and CEA-608, used mainly in the United States it supports captions in:
- a QuickTime closed captioning track
- a MXF closed captioning track
- in SD, in VBI signal
- a SRT sidecar file (in the same folder and using the same name as the video file)
For OP47, (used mainly in the Europe and Australia) it supports:
- a MXF-OP47 file (with OP47 embedded in the file)
- a SRT or STL sidecar file (in the same folder and using the same name as the video file)
IMPORTANT THINGS TO KNOW
- OP47 requires OnTheAir Video 4 or later.
- Make sure to use a supported hardware (check our help desk's help center). It must support to output VANC.
- You will not be able to mix and match frame rate. You will have to use clips that are the same fps as the output settings. If using a QuickTime video track, it must be created using the same format and fps as the output.
WHAT TYPE OF LICENSE WILL YOU RECEIVE? HOW DO YOU ADD AN OPTION?
If you purchase an option together with a new license, you will receive one serial number (or one dongle if you chose the dongle option) that includes the application license and all selected options.
If you already have a license and add this option later, the process will vary depending on the type of license you own:
- If you are using a Serial Number, you will receive an upgrade serial number to activate along with your original serial number. This means both Serial Numbers must remain active. If you prefer having only one serial number, you can deactivate your main license before ordering and share its number with us — we will then cancel it and issue a new serial number containing both the main license and the added option(s).
- If you are using a Dongle, please send us the dongle’s serial number you wish to upgrade. We will update our database, and you can follow the dongle upgrade procedure.
- If you have a Serial Number but want to upgrade to a dongle, simply order a dongle from our store and include the serial number(s) you want migrated in the order comments. Make sure to deactivate those licenses first so we can migrate them to your dongle.
SERIAL NUMBER OR DONGLE ?
By default, when you order a license, you will receive a Serial Number by email that you will use to activate our software. This requires a periodic internet connection to keep the license active. If your computer cannot connect to the internet regularly, a dongle option is recommended. Dongles do not need any activation and can be used without an internet connection.
For more information on how to activate or deactivate your license, visit our Help Center about our licenses. For details about dongles, check out the following section.
