This upgrade is for all owners of a license of MovieRecorder 2 or MovieRecorder 1 and who want to upgrade to MovieRecorder 3, without the Closed-Captioning or the Pro Codecs option (to be purchased separately).
HOW MANY UPGRADES DO YOU NEED ?
You need to order as many upgrades as you have valid permanent MovieRecorder 1 or 2 licenses.
ABOUT THE SUPPORTED CODEC
As MovieRecorder 3 does not use the QuickTime APIs anymore, we are not able to provide all the codecs for free as we now have to pay fees to use some codecs. The standard license of MovieRecorder 3 supports Apple ProRes, DNxHD, H.264, JPEG2000 and uncompressed. For other codecs such as DV, DVCPRO HD, XDCAM, or the MXF file wrapper, you will have to purchase the Pro Codecs option separately.
IMPORTANT NOTE WHEN YOU UPGRADE!
Always indicate in the comments field on your order the serial number or dongle serial number that you have and that needs to be upgraded. If you don't we'll have to mail you back to ask for it anyway ;-)
HOW TO UPGRADE ?
If your current license is a Serial Number,
You will receive an upgrade serial number that you will add to the list of serial numbers in the "License" window and activate it, just as a "Master Serial Number" (the one that you received when you first ordered. This means that you will always have to have the 2 Serial Numbers activated.
If your current license is a Serial Number but you want to upgrade to a dongle,
Additionally to your upgrade, just order a dongle (one per computer) and upon order, in the comments field, indicate the serial number it should replace. The upgrade procedure can be found here.
If your current license is on a Dongle (Grey with the Softron logo),
We will send you an upgrade file for the dongle serial number that you have indicated in the comments field when placing your order. The upgrade procedure can be found here.
If your current license is on an old HASP Dongle (purple), They are NOT supported anymore with the latest applications. Additionally to the upgrade, you will need to order a new dongle as well and send us back your HASP dongle. Once we have received the HASP dongle, we will send you back the new one. In the meantime, we will provide a temporary serial number for you to work.
